Ideal for hikers and lovers of stunning views, this tour will take you along the paths of the Maremma coast, surrounded by nature and art; a welcomed break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

DAY 1: Arrival

Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Depending on the arrival time, it is also possible to arrange a quick visit to the neighboring villages before the overnight accommodation.

DAY 2: Pozzarello Trekking (14 km, 6 h)

Breakfast and departure for a guided hike in the Pozzarello area. Walking on this path, among holm oak woods and the Mediterranean scrub, it will be possible to spot the islands of Giglio, Giannutri, Montecristo and Elba. From Pozzarello there is an aerial view of the eastern and western lagoons, and of a large part of the Tuscan and Lazial Maremma.

At noon, stop for a packed lunch based on local products.

Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3: Capoduomo and Spaccabellezze Trekking (18 km, 7 h)

Breakfast and departure for Capoduomo. From Porto Santo Stefano, passing through back roads and holm oak woods, we climb up to the Tower of Capo d’Uomo, where it is possible to admire the view of the archipelago. The landscape reveals the wild nature of the Argentario.

At noon, stop for a packed lunch based on local products.

At the end of the hike, return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: The Spanish Castle of Porto Ercole (8 km, 5 h)

Breakfast and departure for Porto Ercole.  In 1550, the Spaniards founded the “Stato dei Presidi”, and Porto Ercole was designated as its capital. In order to defend the town, unconquerable fortresses were built. The walkways, the paths overlooking the sea and the beauty of the hidden gardens, make this stroll unique and breathtaking.

At noon, stop for a packed lunch based on local products.

We will visit Fort Filippo, Fort Caterina and the Rocca and, finally, we will go down through the medieval village.

In the evening, return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 5: Tombolo della Feniglia Trekking (5 km, 3 h), lunch by the fishermen and boat tour

Breakfast and departure for the Tombolo della Feniglia trekking. Thousands of birds such as herons, flamingos, ducks and waders find refuge and food in the Feniglia Natural Reserve. An easy walk along a path surrounded by the nature of the Mediterranean scrub, until we will reach the white beach next to Porto Ercole. 

At noon, stop for a packed lunch based on local products.

In the afternoon, tour on a ferry boat in the Orbetello Lagoon.  Orbetello is located in the middle of the lagoon that has the same name and it is joined to Mount Argentario by an artificial dam that divides the lagoon into two bodies of water. Nowadays, Orbetello is a famous tourist destination and a protected area, where fishing farming and fishing activities are extremely important.

In the evening, return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

We don’t want our guests to leave without a tasty souvenir of this trip: that is why a gastronomic lottery of typical Italian cold cuts will be offered during the last dinner together, as well as a parting gift: a bottle of high quality local extra virgin olive oil.

DAY 6: Departure

Departure and return to home.  Depending on the departure time, it is also possible to arrange another visit before returning home.
